Katherine Bush joined the staff as associate rector in April of 2005. Growing up in this parish, Katherine also attended St. Mary's Episcopal School. Following graduation from Rhodes College with a BA in English, she taught at the Maria Montessori School and then returned to St. Mary's as interim chaplain. Katherine attended Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Va. and graduated with honors in 2003. Before coming to work at Church of the Holy Communion, she served for two years at St. Mary's Cathedral in downtown Memphis.

At Holy Communion, Katherine coordinates aspects of our Marriage ministries and is the contact person for people seeking Baptism. With the other clergy and lay leaders, she also teaches and leads several small groups and book studies.

Katherine's husband Stephen is an attorney, and they recently welcomed twin boys Henry and John into their lives.  All four live happily in midtown with their dog Ellie, named for the poet T. S. Eliot. Katherine is an avid reader, loves to travel (though a trip to the grocery store is a big adventure for her these days), and hopes to learn how to play the violin - someday.
