Ms. Kristin M. Lensch
Associate for Music Ministries


Kristin Lensch is Associate for Children's Music Ministries at Church of the Holy Communion where she assists David Ouzts in all aspects of the parish music program, having direct responsibilities for the Boys and Girls Choir and the St. Nicholas Choir.

A native of Wisconsin, Ms. Lensch began her organ study at age thirteen and has worked as a church musician for the past thirteen years. In 1995 she moved to Memphis to become the Assistant Organist of the historic Calvary Episcopal Church in Downtown Memphis. She has also served as Organist and Choirmaster of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Germantown, Tennessee, where she conducted a program of four choirs for all ages; in 2000 she led the St. George’s Coventry Choir on a tour to England. She was also formerly Organist of First Presbyterian Church, Nashville, Tennessee, where she played a large mechanical action instrument built by the Rudolf von Beckerath firm in Hamburg, Germany.In addition to her duties as assistant music director at Holy Communion, Ms. Lensch frequently performs as a solo organ recitalist. She has participated in and won several national competitions, including First and Audience prizes in the Gruenstein Memorial Organ Competition in 1998 and First Prize in the Undergraduate Organ Playing Competition sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church, Ottumwa, Iowa, in 1993. From 1995 – 2003, she was a member of the Memphis Chamber Choir, and can be heard on their compact disc recordings as a singer, soloist, and accompanist. Ms. Lensch is a certified Kindermusik instructor and is an affiliate of The Royal School of Church Music in America, having served in various years as course manager and organist for the annual St. Louis RSCM Course. She has also served on the faculty of the Rhodes Music Academy and the Community Music School of The University of Memphis as a conductor and teacher. In April 2006 Ms. Lensch performed on the historic, four-manual 1928 Kimball organ originally built for the old Ellis Auditorium in Downtown Memphis and now installed in the sanctuary of Bartlett United Methodist Church. Some 700 people attended her concert on this instrument, which was described in The Commercial Appeal in 1929 as “the mightiest voice in Memphis.”Ms. Lensch earned her Bachelor of Music degree from The University of Iowa, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and a Master of Music degree in organ performance from Indiana University. Her organ teachers include Larry Smith, Delbert Disselhorst, and Marilyn Keiser, and she has coached with Wilma Jensen. Her husband, Tim Huebner, teaches history at Rhodes College, and she is the mother of Sloan and Charlie.
