The search committee charged with finding CHC’s next rector has begun its work and has meetings scheduled for this month, October and November. Members are: Ben Adams, Dorothy Brownyard, Sarah Cowens, Therese Despeaux, Wayne Ferguson, Mott Ford, Kay Gammill, Andrew Jehl, Amanda Law, Randy McCloy, Robbie McQuiston, Tom McQuiston, John Russell, Margaret Taylor and Bill Vaughan.

The committee has chosen to open its meetings with this prayer, from Randy McCloy:

Father, we know that it is by your grace that we have been called here tonight to serve you and this church. We ask your continued blessings on this group and their families and we ask your guidance as we begin the process of selecting a new rector. With the mission of Church of the Holy Communion clearly before us, grant us open minds and hearts, clarity of vision, and the perception of what is right, keeping us from bias. We ask that you help us work together, reaching consensus when possible, and pray that all activities will be to the honor and glory of your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

In addition, the executive committee of the vestry is making progress in its search for a transitional rector and will begin interviewing candidates soon.
