Journey
to Adulthood
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation
is an important sacramental rite in the Church and is a step one
can take to make a “mature public affirmation of their faith
and commitment to the responsibilities of Baptism and to receive
the laying on of hands by the bishop.” (Book of Common Prayer,
page 412.) The Rt. Rev. Don Johnson, Bishop of the Diocese of West
Tennessee, visits the parish annually to preside at confirmation.
Those interested in being confirmed prepare by taking our Inquirers’
class. The class is held in the spring with the bishop’s visit
usually following in late May. Many lifelong Episcopalian’s
choose to take class to reaffirm their faith.
The next youth
Confirmation class will begin in February for current 9th graders.
Confirmation will take place at the 1000 a.m. service on Sunday,
June 1st, 2008. For more information about youth Confirmation please
