SMALL GROUPS
Small groups are one of the foundations of adult programming
in the fall and spring at CHC. The support and accountability
they can provide is the essence of the “house” portion of
the three-part model we use for achieving balance in the
spiritual life (the others being the “sanctuary” - worship
with a larger group and the “closet” - private prayer).
Small groups provide a unique way of connecting with other
Christians. They’re about learning, thinking and growing -
but most of all they’re about relationships. Because, as Jesus
taught, love of God and love of neighbor are inseparable.
Our vision for CHC is of a church not just with small groups
but a church of small groups – smaller, intimate communities
within the larger community of the church. Of course, some
people will choose simply to worship with us on Sunday
mornings and not join a small group. But we believe
joining a small group is a meaningful way to promote one’s
spiritual health and to engage most fully with the church.
Whether you’re looking to increase your knowledge of the Bible,
gain an understanding of other faith traditions or deepen your
experience of the Christian faith, there’s a small group for you.
