ALLOCATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE
Charged with establishing procedures and guidelines to follow when granting funds for community social ministry efforts, this committee annually considers grant applications and distributes monies. Dollars are allocated from endowment funds and from the CHC operating budget.

EPISCOPAL RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT
Some of you may be more familiar with this organization’s previous name, the Bishops Relief Fund. Episcopal Relief and Development is the collective response of Episcopalians to help people in need in the United States and around the world. It works with churches in the Anglican Communion as well as with other denominations, local organizations, and partner agencies. It sends emergency relief in time of natural disasters and man-made catastrophes (wars and civil unrest). It also provides long-term assistance for ongoing programs worldwide.

FINANCE SUBCOMMITTEE
This committee provides a regular financial analysis of the Holy Communion social ministry and is also developing a financial plan for expanding social ministries by exploring possible funding sources and alternatives.

HUNGER COMMITTEE
Each parishioner of Church of the Holy Communion has an active part to play in ministering to the thousands of fellow Memphians who are hungry. Members of the Hunger Committee give hands-on service by working at the University Cluster Food Pantry located at St. Luke's Methodist Church. In recent years the Hunger Committee has sponsored a hunger drive during the month of June. Dollars raised benefit MIFA Meals, the St. Luke's Food Pantry, the Food Bank, and the Emmanuel Episcopal Center Breakfast Program. A special 50th Anniversary cookbook is available from the church office; proceeds benefit hunger programs.

UNIVERSITY COUNCIL OF CONGREGATIONS
The University Council of Congregations is an organization of churches generally located in the University of Memphis neighborhood. Present members are St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Buntyn Presbyterian Church, St. John's Episcopal Church, Prescott Memorial Baptist Church, Ascension Lutheran Church, University Christian Church, Olivet Baptist Church, and Church of the Holy Communion. The Council oversees the operation of the St. Luke's Food Pantry and the University Council Early Childhood Center located at Prescott Baptist Church.
