Jan
Karon, the author of the bestselling Mitford series and New
York Times bestselling author, visited us to discuss her new
book, Home to Holly Springs. Her Father Tim stories
have led her to write many novels for which she has won several
awards. At Home in Mitford has been nominated three
times (1996, 1997, and 1998) for an ABBY (American Booksellers
Book of the Year Award) award. This is the only book to ever
be nominated three consecutive years. Her fourth Mitford novel,
A New Song, won a Christy and Gold Medallion award
for outstanding contemporary fiction in 2000. She has won
several other Gold Medallion awards for A Common Life,
In This Mountain, and Shepherd's Abiding. Jan's
wonderful novels have even made their way to the #1 spot of
the New York Times bestseller list. Out to Canaan was
