Description:
A motet is a pre-18th Century piece of vocal music intended for liturgical use. Motets are often shorter and more concise than a full anthem from the later periods. Thus, a motet choir denotes a smaller, chamber choral ensemble. Comprised of auditioned volunteers and professional singers, the Motet Choir specializes in challenging choral literature of all styles of sacred music. We always welcome new members. A simple audition is requested.
The Motet Choir regularly sings for Choral Evensong and other select services throughout the choir season.
