Wellness Class Information

Senior Stretch, Strength & Balance (starts January 13)

6-WEEK SESSION PACKAGE:  $55.00  

Our series of classes starts January 13.  Each package of lessons will consist of six classes that will meet weekly in Holy Communion's Wellness Room 209

INSTRUCTOR:  Hollie Comas

Thursdays 11:00 am -12:00 pm

The class will focus on breathing effectivvely and improving flexibility, strength and balance.  Movements can be performed while seated in a chair, standing with or without the aid of a chair or at the ballet barre on the wall.  Start the new year with a new class!

Pickleball Lessons

Introduction to Pickleball Lessons are scheduled to start in January.  These will be beginner level lessons.  Each package of lessons will consist of four classes that will meet weekly in Holy Communion's Wellness Room 209

Class sessions will be led by one of the following instructors:

     Emma Gately, Janis Finan, Jess Fahie or Taylor Taylor

DAY OF WEEK:  Thursdays - Intro to Pickleball (Wellness Room 209)

SESSION DATES:  January 13, 20, 27 and February 3

TIME OPTION 1:  12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

TIME OPTION 2:  2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

COST:  $100.00 for 4 lessons

Tai Chi

INSTRUCTOR:  SHELIA RAE

MONDAY & WEDNESDAY  11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Tai Chi's slow, graceful, meditative movements have many health benefits and can help improve flexibility, coordination and balance. Quigong is a sequence of slow, gentle fitness exercises that focus on breathing and stretching. It improves blood circulation, increases the utilization of oxygen and fosters a calm, relaxed mental and emotional state. Cost: $8 per class. Drop-ins are welcome. Wear comfortable clothes for easy movement.  Classes are in the new Wellness Facility in Room 209.

Register in-person at class.  If it is your first time back to class, please fill out a new participant form and waiver.

SATURDAY 10:30 am - 11:45 am          SUNDAY, 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm

A well-balanced combination of vinyasa and hatha yoga.

Register in-person at class.  If it is your first time to class, please fill out a new participant form and waiver.

Hatha yoga, each class explores multiple pose categories, including standing, twisting, hip and shoulder opening, forward and back bending.  Expect options and variations to create an appropriate level of challenge or ease that works for you.  **These classes may utilize the Great Yoga Wall in portions of the class.  The Great Yoga Wall acts as a partner to help find stability, strength, flexibility, or traction depending on focus and level of the class.  Teachers give very specific instruction to help acclimate students to the Wall.  Wall experience is not necessary or expected. Classes are held in the new Wellness Facility in Room 211.

Gentle Yoga and Intermediate Yoga

GENTLE YOGA:   MONDAY & WEDNESDAY  4:15-5:15 p.m., Wellness Facility in Room 209.

INTERMEDIATE YOGA:   TUESDAY & THURSDAY  4:15 p.m.-5:15 p.m. - Wellness Facility in Room 209.

Individual Class Payment   $7.00

Class Card Options:  $35.00 (5 Classes)  Monthly Card (Varies Based on # of Classes)

Yoga is for all age groups. It moves at a slower pace and yoga pose alignment is a focus for the class. The benefits of yoga are many. It gently stretches, removes tension and opens up the body. It also focuses the mind and teaches the practitioner to use the breath as a tool for relaxing the body. Come and increase your strength and flexibility and experience the benefits Yoga can add to your life. Classes are held in the new Wellness Facility in Room 209 or 211.  Drop-ins are welcome. Cost: $7 per class. Wear comfortable clothing for easy movement.

Zumba

INSTRUCTOR: EDGAR GIPANAGO

MONDAY & WEDNESDAY 6:30-7:30 p.m.; SATURDAY 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

Bored with your workout? Then join the party! Zumba is a cardio and sculpting dance-exercise class that fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a fun and energizing workout.

Classes meet in Room 209 of the Wellness Center at Holy Communion.  Register in-person at class. If it is your first time to class, please fill out a new participant form and waiver.

Class Card Options:  $20.00 (4 classes); $40.00 (8 classes) Individual Class:  $5.00.

Classes do not meeet the week of December 19 or December 26.  Classes resume Saturday, January 8.

SATURDAY  8-9 a.m. Outdoors on the Holy Communion field

An 8-week results based journey!  The class includes high-intensity interval training (HIT) workouts designed to challenge, empower and recharge you.  Nutrition, guidance, recipes and meal planers are provided to educate and guide you toward healthy eating habits.  This program also includes online workouts, accountability and a supportive community.
